On Friday, October 13th, Managing Director at Lammas Incrementum, Rory McLeod was one of a select group of business owners invited to attend an industry development conference held in Newcastle.
The meeting was organised by one of Mr McLeod’s business mentors, who is an award-winning entrepreneur, picking up the prestigious accolade of the 20/20 Club Award for the last three years at the annual UK Sales & Marketing Awards. The 20/20 Club Award is given for outstanding sales, quality and profitability. Mr McLeod was one of a select few business owners invited to the meeting.
The business development conference was held at the 4-star Sandman Hotel in Newcastle City Centre. Attendees travelled from Edinburgh, York and Sheffield for the meeting. The objective of the meeting was to bring together aspiring entrepreneurs who are entering a pivotal stage of their business development and provide them with knowledge and motivation to hit their goals for Q4 and act as the catalyst for a record-breaking final quarter.
The meeting began with budding entrepreneurs given the task to complete paperwork to brainstorm ideas and branding for their own businesses, generating a sense of urgency and excitement. After the introduction, each business owner in the group spoke on a specialist subject including building a company and brand identity, replacing yourself as a leader, managing and motivating a team, and finished with building relationships. Mr McLeod was asked to address attendees on the topic of business trips. Sales, marketing and promotions specialists, Lammas Incrementum frequently run business trips to cities throughout the UK to test new markets as well as expand market reach for their client portfolio. The firm has a successful track-record taking their services on the road, with previous ventures to Cumbria, Scarborough, Whitby, Montrose and Carlisle, and more recently to Aberdeen for a road trip bonanza. Mr McLeod shared his hints and tips for running a productive and highly profitable business trip, sharing his own experience of both leading and participating in business trips.
The meeting closed with the keynote speakers sitting down for a thirty minute Q&A session where delegates had the opportunity to delve further into the backgrounds of the entrepreneurs.
After the meeting came to a close, attendees gathered at the Shark Club for networking drinks where they enjoyed the famous chicken wings.
